Gray 1

 

Available only in latex. This is an original color that the paint shop duplicated from an old Swedish dresser for us. It is a silvery gray with green undertones.

Gray 2

Available in latex or oil. This gray was the original finish on the antique Swedish pedestal table from c.1850 shown below (sold) that we had duplicated at the paint shop. It has a brownish undertone with great character and no green.

Gray 3

Available in latex. This is an elegant pale gray with a blueish undertone.

The upper half is one thin coat of wash. The lower half is two thin coats. Across one long side is a coat of wax which can't be seen in this photo. There are two gilding color samples as well, H uppermost and F below.

This is a single coat of wash - very elegant and yet shows the age of the clock.

These finishes are painted in a dry technique and distressed lightly...

Gray 4

An historic gray, elegant and neutral with buff undertones. Available in both latex and oil.

Shown here in oil paint, dry brushed on. It has a rustic aged look with some some soft gloss-typical of farmhouse Swedish finishes.

Gray 5

This historic color shifts with the light from dove gray to beguiling blue.

done in a wash...

this desk was given a strong wash with a whitened Gray #5...

 

slightly whitened and rubbed in to give just a hint of color...

with just one coat and distressed...

Gray 6

A handsome classic gray available in oil and latex. All pieces were done in oil paint.

 

and with a brown antique glaze....

and shown over a desk in Tudor Brown Wax

 

with two thin dry brushed coats, slightly distressed...

Gray 7

Available in oil or latex. Shown in oil. This is an historic color, but more 'country living' American than Swedish with a red, not a yellow undertone.
