Height 88 1/2"
A tall, handsome, dignified and if I may say so manly, Danish clock c. 1880, fine oak body stained a dark brown. Beveled glass face, so rare with hands shaped like hearts.
There is a label from a clock maker in Roskilde, where the clock was taken for repairs at some point.
There are also many labels on the back of this clock, showing how it was transported by train. Dentil molding around the moldings. The finish is scratched in several places, photos in the slideshow. Fully dovetailed construction.
The works are cleaned and running well. We did replace the original weights with new and heavier weights. This interesting clock has the works inserted from the back, then the back was covered with a wooden plate. Watch the video to hear the chime, tick tock and how to assemble.
A strong, sturdy clock, ready to go home with you.
